Monica Ge is a San Francisco–based pianist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist whose work bridges music, film, and emotional storytelling.
With an MFA in Music Production for Visual Media from the Academy of Art University and a background in musicology, she has composed for film, television, and multimedia projects internationally. Her work has received over 20 international film festival nominations and awards, including selections at the Krakow Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival, and the Taiwan Golden Horse Awards.
Her scoring for the Taiwanese television series Close to You reached an audience of over 18 million viewers, while her film work has been recognized across festivals in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
Her artistic practice combines orchestral composition, sound design, and cinematic sensitivity, creating immersive sound worlds that enhance visual narratives.
As a pianist with more than two decades of performance experience, Monica continues to explore live performance and improvisation, including silent film accompaniment.
Her work is deeply influenced by stillness, space, and the emotional dialogue between sound and image.
